The Quick Start topics are here to help you get Code Sight up and running, depending on which analysis tool or toolset you plan to use.
Authentication
After you install it, the Code Sight plug-in prompts you to choose one of the Synopsys Software Integrity tools that you want Code Sight to run. Certain tools require you to authenticate yourself.
Reviewing and updating authenticated tools
The Code Sight interface lets you review, update, add or remove Synopsys tools. The controls for doing so depend on which IDE you are working with.
Eclipse and Visual Studio
In Eclipse and Visual Studio (release 2022.8.1), tools that have been authenticated, downloaded, and installed appear on the Notifications panel.

- Installation
  Here are the instructions for installing Code Sight in the officially supported development environments. (Certain environments might be supported only in beta: For current information, see the Release Notes.)
- Authentication
  After you install it, the Code Sight plug-in prompts you to choose one of the Synopsys Software Integrity tools that you want Code Sight to run. Certain tools require you to authenticate yourself.
  - To choose a tool: Code Sight configuration
    The first time you run Code Sight, it displays a configuration page that lets you choose which Synopsys tool or tools to run.
  - To authenticate Black Duck
    If your installation supports Black Duck, the Status view > Notifications panel shows a page that prompts you to authenticate Black Duck in addition to Coverity.
  - To authenticate Coverity
    Authenticating yourself enables Coverity Analysis to share triage data with a central server. It also enables Coverity Analysis to download full-project scans from that server, which improves the quality of local analysis.

    - JetBrains IDEs and VS Code
      In JetBrains IDEs, including IntelliJ (release 2022.9.0), tools that have been authenticated, downloaded, and installed appear on a Status panel named Products & Licenses. In VS Code (also release 2022.9.0), the comparable tab is titled “Installed Products and Licenses”.
    - To add a tool that has not yet been installed
      To add a tool in Eclipse, use the Status view. In VS Code, use the Products and Licenses tab (accessible from the STATUS view).
    - To remove a tool so that Code Sight stops running it
      To remove a tool from Code Sight, you need to remove the tool from your system.
- Administration
  This section, aimed at system administrators, describes various options that affect the configuration of Code Sight itself, and of both the Black Duck and the Coverity tools.

Eclipse and Visual Studio

In Eclipse and Visual Studio (release 2022.8.1), tools that have been authenticated, downloaded, and installed appear on the Notifications panel.

The Notifications panel now lists a page to show information about the installed software.

The new page has the title, Installed Plug-in and Tool Versions.

If you double-click the entry for this page, you see a page that shows the current plug-in version, along with the state and version of the tools that you have installed, so far.
